the new version you are talking about is slim i am assuming. i dont have one but i have heard they are pretty cool but not amazing. so it really depends on your budget i would say. if i were you i would get the regular elite 360 and have money left over for a hard drive and games and stuff. the rrod doesnt happen on the new console, it just has different problems. haha. rrod is caused by overheating your xbox. so as long as you dont leave your console on for more than 6 hours at a time you should be fine. hope this helps! and email me at austin.argh@gmail.com if you have any questions or anything. glad you stumbled across my site! :)
